Stuart Strachan

I have lived in Callignee for 40 years and successfully defended our family home from the 2009 bushfires. In business I was involved in the construction and management of high profile buildings around the world which exposed me to disciplines such as wind and fire engineering.

I have a doctorate in organizational change focusing on the unconscious behavior of groups recovering from traumatic experiences.

Since 2009 I have led the Callignee & Traralgon South Emergency Committee which promotes emergency awareness and preparedness.

More recently, I was involved in forming the Latrobe Community Emergency Management forum. This group seeks to foster community engagement and emergency management in small towns across the Latrobe Valley including Hazelwood, Jeeralang, Toongabbie, Tyers, Callignee/Traralgon South, Yallourn North and Yinnar/Boolarra.
